4-H is a volunteer-based, skill-building organization for children and teens ages 5 to 19. Children participate in 4-H community clubs, after-school workshops, field trips and other special events and hands-on activities  during weekends, evenings and school holidays. There are currently several active 4-H clubs in Craven County, and children participate each year in 4-H sponsored activities focusing on camping, cooking, horses, the environment, computers, sports, recycling, wildlife and leadership skills.
